Buddha Statue Appeal
To mark the 15th anniversary of Dechen LA - Sakya Buddhist Temple, we plan to commission a magnificent 6-foot gold-gilded statue of Shakyamuni Buddha to grace our shrine room - a timeless symbol of the Buddha’s enlightened presence and compassion for all beings.
By installing this statue it is our wish that it inspires peace, harmony and prosperity for all sentient beings, in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and the whole world.

Throughout Buddhist history, temples have been home to large, awe-inspiring statues of the Buddha. These statues have the power to instill confidence, devotion, and inspiration and embody the aspiration of limitless love, compassion and peace.
Contributing to the creation of sacred images is one of the most joyful and meaningful ways laypeople can accumulate positive karmic merit.
A Statue for Generations to Come
The statue will be crafted in the traditional manner by expert artisans in Nepal, renowned for their skill and devotion.
Once installed in our shrine room, it will transform the space for generations, becoming a radiant focal point for prayer, meditation, and inspiration.
