White Dzambhala or White Jambhala is a manifestation of the Chenrezik, the Buddha of Compassion. The practice is done to remove the suffering of poverty and sickness, purify non-virtuous karma and generate bodhicitta. The practice is said to originate from the great Indian Saint Atisha, who visited Tibet in the 11th Century CE.
Reason to practice White Dzambhala
The purpose of practicing White Dzambhala is to create the conditions and support to practice Dharma. Also to benefit all sentient beings by removing their poverty and giving them whatever they need to practice Dharma.
White Dzambhala is an emanation of Chenrezik. He is sitting astride a turquoise dragon or snow lion, in his left hand is a mongoose that spits out precious jewels, the symbol of abundance and wealth.
