These Buddhist classes give a foundation in the core teachings of Buddhism such as impermanence, rebirth and karma. The classes will also cover the philosophical understanding of the true nature of reality.

The teachings of Buddhism are very different from Western systems of thought and Eastern religions. The classes will give you an understanding of some of the essential aspects of Buddhism

The classes cover the full range of Buddhist teachings but you are welcome to drop in to any single class, the cycle of topics will rotate every 3 months, so over the year there is plenty of opportunity to attend each one.

  • Introduction to Buddhism. History, lineage and idea of Buddha nature in all living beings.
  • Foundations of Buddhist Meditation and Practice. The four thoughts that turn the mind to dharma; precious human birth, impermanence, karma and suffering.
  • The Mind of Enlightenment. Loving kindness, compassion and the altruistic wish to benefit beings.
  • Buddhist Philosophy. Rebirth and the Four Seals
  • Buddhist Philosophy. The Middle Way View
  • Vajrayana and the Tantras. What is the vajrayana and how to we enter this superior path.
